Be a Beauty Know-It-All!

Hello lovers of all things makeup!
To be the helpful 'guru' I am, I thought I'd make a post about some weird makeup tricks, tips and problem solvers I use to keep my look and makeup in tip-top shape.
Let the weirdness begin!

#1 Coke in the  Dried-Up Mascara Trick.
Now, this is one of the bizarre tricks I learned and it concerns a certain bubbly beverage. If you take a *BRAND NEW* can/bottle of cola (Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper, something caramel-y in color...I use Coke) and take a drop or two, that's all you need, up in a straw and drop it into your old clumpy mascara...viola! The syrup in the beverage re-activates the 'binding' material in your mascara to revitalize your old wink machine.
*I have also tried this with some liquid liners; works fine and dandy.

#2 Need to Harden Wet Nail Polish in a Jiffy?
Dip your nails in ice water, if you can stand it! The cold water makes the molecules slow down and change into a more crystal-like state, making your polish set faster. Yay chemistry!
Do 3 sets of 10 second reps and call me in the morning. ;)

#3 Face+Lemon= Gorgeous Skin!
Watch this from my favorite guru, Kandee Johnson!

#4 Multipurpose Products!
Don't rush out and buy every product for every job nor do you have to use 37 products on your face everyday. Multitask! Most products for the face can be used anywhere on the face, even though they're marketed towards certain areas. Halloween is a perfect time to take advantage of this. If you have a gorgeous pink lipstick and want a blush to match, you can use your lipstick on your cheeks. WHAT?! Yeah! Just dab a bit on the apples, or where ever you want it, and blend. Ta da! Same goes for liners. Want a black lip for Halloween, or just cause your cool like that (holla for the black lip, Jessie J) use a black eyeliner. Line the lips and fill them in. Want a matte finish, tap your lips with matte black eye shadow, or for glossy top with gloss. Get the point? Good, let's dance.

#5 Whiter Teeth
Ok this isn't weird, but I am seriously in love with this product! Plus White 5 Minute Whitening Gel gets the job done on my teeth and it's beyond super easy to use. The system comes with a squishy tray, the gel and a rinse for tartar control and it's about $11 at Walgreens. I, however, do not follow the instructions in the box. I squeeze some on my finger and push it into the crevasses of my teeth all over then bite the tray, instead of filling the tray; you save so much product. I also use it in the shower; a perfect time you don't need to talk or use your teeth at all. Added bonus: you can spit out the foam when it fills your mouth and makes your tongue tingle-y.

There are so many more tips and I will eventually share all my knowledge, but now it's time for beddy bye.
Goodnight and dream sweetly my loves!

Bullet Proof Liner!

I have grand news of awesomeness!

If you need a sweat proof, water proof, humidity proof, hangover proof, eye rubbing proof eyeliner these are for you! I demo-ed these totally amazing eyeliners the other day and I gotta say, I was uber impressed; ask anyone, I'm not easily impressed with makeup. All four of these liners knocked my socks off and expectations out. Another beautiful thing about this wonderful group of liners is the price range; it will be easy peesy to pick one out to fit your terrible Obama-economy budget.

First isss.....
*The Sephora Collection Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof pencil. $10 at Sephora stores and online.
This pencil is fan-flippin-tastic! I have it in #15 (purple). I tried to use it as a base for my shadows, waited about 2 minutes, tried to blend it...it didn't move. Not a single centimeter. If you want to use it for a base or to smudge it, work quickly; you have probably about 1 minute to play with it, then it sets and does. not. MOVE!

Second isss.....
*The Clinique Brush On Cream Liner. $15 at Clinique counters or online. This liner is pretty great. The liner has a beautiful consistency and would stay on in a rain storm. There selection of colors is nice; grey, black, deep brown and black honey, which goes with their new fall collection.I will say however, the brush that comes with it is very hard to use. Get yourself a quality eyeliner brush if you want to be creating any kind of dramatic eyeliner. I use a Sonia Kashuk smudge brush; she also has a bent eyeliner brush.

Third isss (my favorite)....
*Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner. $18 at Sephora stores or online or Urban Decay.com.
Now, if you know me at all you'll know I am a total Urban Decay junkie. I love everything they have. They are, in my opinion, the best brand for high quality glitter shadows, eyeliners, awesome colors, cool palettes and the infamous Eye Primer Potion.
I took a shower; a shower, people with this eyeliner on my hand. It stayed on the whole steamy, lathery, hot shower long. If I hadn't taken it off it would've stayed well into the second day of it's young life.
The colors are beyond pigmented. My favorite is Radium, an electric ocean blue. GORG!
**WARNING** you need a waterproof eye makeup remover! DO NOT SCRUB YOUR EYES!!!

and finally....
NARS Larger Then Life Long-Wear Eyeliner pencil. $23 at Sephora stores or online or NARS Cosmetics.com
I also tried this little gem on my hand, just to see the color. The sales associate informed me it would not budge at all. "Yeah right." I was thinking, "It's a pencil." It made it through rubbing the colored mark vigorously with my other hand, with water and made it through my shower with it's buddy Urban Decay. Like I said, so impressed.
NARS is also famous for Orgasm Blush, Laguna Bronzer and Turkish Delight Lip Gloss (mine and Kim Kardashian's fave).

I wanted to post pictures of the products, but my computer won't let me at this point :(
I hope this was helpful to all oily or watery eye people. I also did not intend to post two eyeliner related posts, but hey...I just had to tell you about these awesome eyeliners!

NEW Obsession!

So I'm a Sephora beauty insider (if you want to sign up click here). All that means is I signed up for their sweet rewards program. You get 1 point per dollar you spend at their stores or online. Annnywaayyss.

I got an email with this lovely picture
These are Dior's Velvet Eyes eyeliner 'stickers'. They are absolutely brilliant. I would love to get my paws on a set, but they run about 60 smackeroos from Sephora, which for me, is a little pricey. But they are reusable and easily stick onto the eyelid. I am a huge fan of winged, dramatic eyeliner and I can't imagine how easy it'll be to have show stopping eyeliner, whenever I want. And And AND some of them have...CRYSTALS! I love all things sparkly and shiny.
Reviews, Comments and Where to Shop!

Low maintenance makeup has been a huge and upcoming market for, well, ever. That being said, these are still getting my 'most awesome' vote. You can do so many creative things with these; draw a color along side it, wear it on the bottom lash line, I bet you could even wear them as eyebrows if you wanted.

Stay fabulous my friends.
Love and black eyeliner....MissAubrey
